Climbing Out of the Vortex and coming back to God

Materialism. Atheism. Secularism. Call it what you like, but the vortex created through these beliefs will suck your soul dry and leave you battered and broken and, maybe, still believing the lies. the prince of lies, in his greatest defeat, has convinced a generation that he doesn’t exist. he has convinced our society that nothing is wrong. “What about the Commandments?” they used to say? he lied because he knew they’d want to believe. It’s easier that way.

“What commandments? The truth is that life is about equality, our consciences, and physical love. If you don’t think it’s wrong, you’ve done nothing wrong. God knows this. That’s the truth.”

“It’s your right because it’s your body. That’s not a human being.” “Would you really want to live in pain and suffer? You’re going to die anyway.”
“If you don’t have sex now, you might not like each other later.”
“You don’t want kids. People are so much happier without them.”
“Children are a burden. You cannot live to your fullest if you have children.”
“Get a babysitter and go out. The kids will be fine alone. You deserve to have fun.”
“It doesn’t matter that s/he is not your spouse. Go for it and have fun.”
“Look, s/he’s old. You don’t want her to suffer. The passage with be gentle and he/she won’t know the difference.”
“There’s nothing after this, so you better have fun now.”
“Get real. There is no God. Would God allow the world to be in this mess?”

Then, there is TRUTH. TRUTH does not change. What was TRUE at the beginning of the world is TRUE today.

1) I AM the Lord, Your God, You shall not have strange gods before Me.
2) You shall not take the name of the Lord, Your God, in vain.
3) Remember to keep Holy the Lord’s Day.
4) Honor your father and your mother.
5) You shall not kill.
6) You shall not commit adultery.
7) You shall not steal.
8) You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
9) You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife.
10) You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.

Jesus, the second Person of the Divine Trinity, our Lord, God and Savior made it even easier to remember:
“Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?”  He said to him, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the greatest and the first commandment.  The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Matthew 22: 37-39

The TRUTH never changes. The time has come. Open your hearts to the graces of God. Love God. Love others. Forgive. Show Mercy.
Confess your sins to a priest. Humble yourself before God and your fellow man. Submit yourself to God’s Will. Embrace your family. Be true to your spouse. Follow the Commandments. Above all, love God above all else.
