Divine Mercy Sunday and Prayers for the Souls in Purgatory

divinemercy 3The souls in Purgatory have always been dear to me.

Since they can no longer help themselves,
they rely totally on others to help them in their intense purgatorial sufferings.
It is only through
Acts of Mercy,
such as
prayer, Mass offerings, charitable works offered up, sufferings offered up,
that their sufferings are relieved
and,
frequently,
they are released from the bonds of Purgatory.

On Divine Mercy Sunday,
the infinite Love of God is released to His children on earth.
His Mercy flows to all of us
and,
can flow
through all of us
to those on earth who need our help
or
to those who have died and are waiting their release from Purgatory.

By participating in the
Divine Mercy devotions,
Purgatorial souls can feel the
Mercy
of God’s Divine Love for humanity.

If your church holds a Divine Mercy service,
attend and offer your prayers for the
Souls in Purgatory.
Pray a Rosary while you are there.
Offer all the graces you merit for
Souls.

If you cannot attend or your church does not have a Divine Mercy service,
pray at home.
At 3 o’clock pray the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy and offer it for souls.
Here’s a link if you do not know the prayer.
DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET
Pray the St. Gertrude Prayer which is said to release 1,000 souls each time a person prays this prayer.

Eternal Father,

I offer You the Most Precious Blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus, in union with all of the Masses said today,

in reparation for sins, for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church,

those within my own home, and within my family.

Amen.

Pray a Rosary.
Allow the Mercy of God to flow through you.
Offer that Mercy for souls.

The souls cannot help themselves.
Your works of Mercy can.
