” He said, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Now there was a great wind, so strong that it was splitting mountains and breaking rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of sheer silence. When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. Then there came a voice to him that said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

Elijah found the Lord in silence.
Psalm 46: 10
“Be still, and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth.”
In stillness, the psalmist reminds us to seek the Lord.
When you pray, where do you find God?
Teresa of Avila said,
“God walks among the pots and pans.”
Brother Lawrence, who lived in the 17th century, and was a cook in his monastery,
wrote:
“It is a serious mistake to think of our prayer time as being different from any other. Our actions should unite us with God when we are involved in our daily activities, just as our prayers unite us with him in our quiet devotions.” “It isn’t necessary that we stay in church in order to remain in God’s presence. We can make our hearts personal chapels where we can enter anytime to talk to God privately.”
Silence.
Stillness.
Pots and Pans.
Where do you find God?
To find God, we must seek Him.
“When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart, I will let you find me, says the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.”
Jeremiah 29: 13
Seek Him with your heart.
Pray to Him with you heart.
God will give you the graces to find Him.
He is there waiting with His Love.
Prayer
Father of all goodness, Father the Creator, Father Lord of all,
We praise You and give You thanks.
Father,
You have promised that if we seek You, You will let us find You.
We ask for the grace of knowing You.
We ask for the grace of finding You.
We ask for the grace of loving You.
Father, all mighty,
We are here.
We come to do Your Will.
Teach us to serve others through You.
Help us to lead others to find You.
