According to recent statistics, 65% of all Catholics NO LONGER BELIEVE in the real Presence, that is, the BODY, BLOOD, SOUL, AND DIVINITY of Jesus, our God, in the Eucharist. 65%!!!!! That means that 35% of all Catholics do believe in this basic tenent of our Faith, but 65% do NOT believe.

When the priest speaks the words of consecration and elevates the host, what do you see? What do you believe?

Do you see that circular piece of bread, often referred to as a wafer, elevated for the congregation to see and adore? Adore? If that’s the question you asked: adore? Yes, adore. With the words of consecration pronounced by the priest, the bread became the living body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus, the Second Person of the Trinity, the Son of the Living God, the Son of Mary. Do you believe? If not, you are being tested. It is only through FAITH that we can believe. How do you know if you really believe? Think about and answer these questions.

Do you genuflect before you enter your pew? If you can’t genuflect, do you acknowledge the real Presence of Jesus with a bow? What do you wear to church? I know that’s a struggle, but what do you wear? Look around you. Do you see people in clothes that they would never wear to meet the President, the Queen of England, the Pope? You might not be ablel to afford the most expensive clothing, but you can wear the best you have, if you really believe.

When you go to RECEIVE the Eucharist, what do you do with your hands? Do you walk along swinging them at your sides, or do you acknowledge the Real Presence of Jesus by folding your hands, humbly, in front of you? Do you approach the Eucharist to RECEIVE the host with deference and humility? Before you RECEIVE, do you bow your head to acknowledge the Presence of the Living God in that host?

When you RECEIVE the Lord, our God, into your mouth. what do you say to Him? Do you acknowledge His Greatness above you and all the earth? Do you worship and adore Him as He enters the temple of your Body? Do you thank Him for the gift of your life and for all His Goodness to you?

When you receive the Lord God Almighty are you in the state of grace? Do you receive Him without the stain of mortal sin on your soul? Have you made an effort to receive Him in the state of grace by participating in the Sacrament of Confession? When was the last time you went to Confession?

So what do you think? Could it be possible that the statistic of 65% is wrong and the truth is that the number is higher? Are you part of the statistic that says most Catholics no longer believe in the real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist? How do you rate your participation in the Sacrament? How are you teaching your children to RECEIVE the Eucharist? 65% is alarming. Where are you? Think about it. Think carefully.

The Catholic Faith is the only Faith that acknowledges the Divine Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Can you be a Catholic and not believe?

The graces of the Eucharist are intense and amazing! Where are you in this statistic? 65%? 35%?

Be honest. Pray for the grace to believe. Pray for the gift of Faith. You’ll never prove that Jesus lives in the Eucharist. This is a matter of faith. Pray. Pray. Pray. Jesus is your God.

  1. I am praying for those who do not believe. It is a Fatima prayer…Oh Lord I adore You, believe in You,hope in You and adore You. I pray for those who do not adore, believe, hope or love You!

I pray this before I received Our Lord in Holy Communion.
