When you are grateful, you know you are loved. To be loved is to be held in high esteem and closeness by another person. To give thanks to the giver, elevates the joy and love that we are given when we return that joy and love to our beloved. When we praise and thank God for all the gifts He has given us, we return to Him the joy and love of His children.
“So we know and believe the love God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”
1 John 4:16
Whether our thanks comes from experiencing the smell of a flower in the breeze, the taste of a vegetable in our mouths, the sound of a rippling stream, the feel of velvet on our fingers, the sight of a sunset blazing in our eyes. It doesn’t matter. Gratitude itself is a gift from God. To be thankful to God reminds us of all we are given, things seen and unseen, daily. Gratitude teaches us that the love of God is more important than any gift we are given, which is a gift.
To be loved is to be cherished. To be cherished is to be loved.
Gratitude is an experession of love. Gratitude is a willingness to give back to the Beloved. Gratitude is a state of love. Gratitude is a reminder that we are loved and cherished by our God.
Yes, I am loved
Thank You, Lord, for that gift.
