We have an amazing God! The Father, Creator, Jesus our Brother and Son of the Father, and the Holy Spirit, our Counselor. Three persons in One God.
Father is the Creator and Sustainer.
Jesus, the Promised Messiah, died that we may live.
The Holy Spirit pours forth His gifts upon the earth.
“By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
Galatians 5: 22
To experience the Holy Spirit is a gift. He manifests Himself in many ways. The Holy Spirit shares His Gifts with us, as well as, His Fruits.
“The spirit of the Lord shall rest on him,
the spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the spirit of counsel and might,
the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.”
For years, I have waited to receive the Fruits and Gifts of the Holy Spirit. I’m sure I have some of them, but once you encounter the Holy Spirit, you can never get enough of Him. I continue to wait, but now, I know something I didn’t before.
Last week, our pastor gave his homily at Mass. He spoke of the Gifts of the Spirit and the Fruits of the Spirit.
Father said, “If you want the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit, ask for them in prayer.”
Duh! Why hadn’t I thought of this before?
“Ask for them in Prayer!”
Another gift from the Holy Spirit. So simple!
“Ask for them in Prayer.”
Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Come, Holy Spirit, Fill the Hearts of the Faithful and Inspire in us the Fire of Your Love. Send Forth Your Spirit, and we shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth.
