After the angel departed, Mary set out to see Elizabeth.
The prayer which the angel began,
“Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus,” was completed by Elizabeth when she saw Mary.
“And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.“ Luke 1: 42
Prayer permeated their lives.
Mary began to praise and thank God for all He had done.
And Mary said,
“My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked with favor on the lowliness of his servant.

for the Mighty One has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.
His mercy is for those who fear him

He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts.
He has brought down the powerful from their thrones,

Luke 1: 46-55
The Apostle to the Gentiles said,
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18
